Banking client is seeking a Credit Analyst to join their Credit Administration team in New York City or Greenwich, CT. Commercial lending, underwriting, portfolio management experience within the banking or financial services industry is required.

Credit Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Completes spreads and cashflow analyses as part of the underwriting of diversified types of loans.
  • Credit Analyst spreads financial and credit information of potential and existing clients.
  • Responsible for the oversight and ongoing management of a loan portfolio monitoring client’s compliance, collection of required annual financials, clearing financial and collateral exceptions, loan renewals and modifications, site visits and other functions necessary to effectively manage the portfolio.
  • Responsible for Management Information Reporting related to the Bank’s loan portfolio.
  • Analyze business and individual tax returns and financial statements to identify recurring and non-recurring sources of cash flow (identification of cash versus non-cash income on K-1 statements, schedule E, etc.). Candidates must be able to spread these statements utilizing the Bank’s financial spreading software and complete cash flows utilizing the Bank’s Credit Approval Request forms.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources within the organization to generate insightful reports that inform strategic decision-making by management, highlighting key trends, performance metrics, and areas for improvement.

Credit Analyst Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in economics, finance, business or accounting.
  • 4+ years of prior commercial lending, underwriting, portfolio management experience required within the banking or financial services industry
  • Prior analyst, portfolio management experience required.
  • Strong credit skills with the capacity to generate financial spreads and cashflows.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills with a service orientation for both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong intellect, intellectual curiosity and motivation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the use of the Bank’s financial spreading software and loan origination system.
  • Ability to work independently and under critical time constraints.

Salary range: $70,000-$90,000 based on experience. Bonus eligible.
