Global Law firm in NYC is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team.

Financial Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Communicate client guideline policies to ensure compliance with billing requirements
  • Financial Analyst will work with management on results analysis, matter modeling and financial analytics
  • Financial Analyst will help management with the maintenance/monitoring of billing rates in the system and publishing of approved special billing guidelines
  • Successfully respond to client requests and inquiries
  • Update and maintain client billing rates and exception rates
  • Successfully review all special billing arrangement documents
  • Update and monitor discount application
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements by publishing approved special billing guidelines
  • Implement and generate approved guideline summaries
  • Interact and communicate with partners and clients regarding annual associate increases
  • Successfully conduct quality control checks
  • Maintain and update databases, generate billing rate reports
  • Financial analyst will assist in creation of monthly and Client/Matter Profitability Analysis
  • Successfully complete various reconciliation processes around bill rate & cost maintenance
  • Financial Analyst will assist with analysis of current metrics
  • Create models to assist in billing negotiations with clients and for internal budgeting purposes, utilizing financial reporting systems
  • Additional projects as needed
  • Salary $70,000-$80,000 depending on experience, plus OT

Financial Analyst Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of financial analysis and/or legal billing experience in legal or related field required
  • Elite software experience or other legal billing system preferred
  • Ability to work with new technologies, and in handling data entry
  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing
  • Strong communication skills interacting with management and Partners
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, sum if); proficiency in MS Word
  • Attention to detail, organized, ability to work independently and as part of a team
