Financial firm in NYC is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, and 4-6 years of relevant accounting experience. CPA Certification (or pursuing CPA) is required.
Responsibilities:
- Senior Accountant will complete monthly bank and revenue account reconciliations
- Record and prepare recurring journal entries: depreciation; amortization; prepayments and accruals
- Successfully oversee financial advisor loan schedules and amortization
- Develop and own the accounts payable functions and processes
- Manage expense allocations across teams
- Continuously improve accounting/finance procedures and internal controls
- Interface with executives and managers concerning issues and questions
- Implement and develop process improvements, document procedures and processes to create efficiencies
- Successfully support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility
- Produce monthly and weekly client asset reporting
- Successfully engage with finance team to maintain and reconcile advisor production reporting system
- Assist executive management with a variety of ad hoc financial analysis requests
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- CPA certified (or pursuing CPA) required
- Financial Services or Wealth Management experience preferred
- 4-6 years of experience in an accounting role
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced changing environment
- Flexible, organized and adaptable to change
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, both verbal and written
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (v-lookups and pivot tables)
- Experience with QuickBooks preferred
- Team orientated, positive attitude, reliable and strong work ethic
