Back Office Operations Support Officer | New York, NY

International Bank is seeking a banking operations back office support officer to join their New York City Office. Requirements: This hire will have 2-4 years of loan administration experience, and bilingual fluency in Mandarin/English. Experience in wholesale banking, syndication loan familiarity and working in a bank’s operational department is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Back office operations support officer will use the core banking system to process loan and treasury transactions.
  • Responsible for accounts opening and closure as front office inquiriesmaintaining accurate and up to date customer information.
  • Interact closely with front office and agent banks to provide excellent customer service.
  • Successfully process syndicated and bilateral loan transactions on a timely basis. Check details of loan tickets; input deals into system; update and reconcile the loan schedule with the relevant department, settle the principal/interest/fee with counterparty on due date; resolve any discrepancies and compensation-related issues.
  • Maintain transaction and customer files as required.
  • Review daily/monthly reports and perform reconciliations.
  • Review loan documents (i.e. credit agreement) to ensure data integrity and approval.
  • Operations Officer will be proactive to support special projects of new products, system testing and business continuity program.
  • Complete all mandatory policy and procedure trainings and assessment.
  • Undertake duties and tasks assigned by management from time to time.
  • Perform backup function as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Requires two to four plus years loan administration experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin is required.
  • Experience in wholesale banking, syndication loan familiarity and working in a bank’s operational department is highly preferred.
  • Work experience of L/C and trade finance is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin is required.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform job functions accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Strong sense of initiative, team work and collaboration.
  • Fast learner for new products and system and high proficiency in computer skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a multi-task, high-volume environment.
