Global Law firm is seeking a Billing Coordinator to join their Houston, Texas office location. This individual will have 2-4 years of relevant experience in a large law firm environment.
Billing Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Research and respond to internal and external inquiries regarding billing issues and problems in a timely manner
- Execute complex bills, such as multiple discounts by matter, split party billing , and prepare electronic bills in a timely manner
- Compile and process a high volume of attorney bills to clients on a monthly basis
- Review and edit pre-bills in response to attorney and secretary requests
- Identify and resolve billing inaccuracies
- Apply retainer/on-account funds as directed by attorney and as per Firm policy
- Process write-offs following Firm policy
- Submit invoices electronically and assist in resolving issues
- Review and verify accuracy of billing supporting documentation
- Create billing schedules and various other billing analyses
- Effectively interact and communicate with attorneys, secretaries and clients
- Attend Partner meetings and weekly management meetings to review unbilled matter comments, matter on-accounts and e-Billing issues
- Distribute monthly partner reports
- Observe confidentiality of client and Firm matters
- Review and update comments for reports distributed to the Finance Committee and Partners
- Work cooperatively with Collections staff and assist with accounts receivable issues to minimize credit balances
- Assist with special projects as needed
Billing Coordinator Requirements:
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of or e-Billing, finance or accounting experience in a law firm preferred
- Knowledge of 3E billing system or comparable billing program preferred
- High School diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, preferred, or, equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel
- Ability to organize, prioritize, plan and multi-task work activities
- Ability to effectively meet deadlines in a high pressure environment
- Strong communication skills, verbally and in writing
- Ability to use an accounting calculator
- Detail oriented, adaptable and organized with a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed
- Salary range $65,000-$80,000 based on experience. Bonus eligible.
