International Bank is seeking a Compliance Officer to join their Corporate Compliance Department in New York City. The role of the Compliance Officer involves conducting the development, implementation, and maintenance of business continuity plans, coordinating response efforts during emergencies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsible for the adherence of applicable federal and state regulatory requirements relating to Business Continuity Planning & Corporate Compliance and to assist the team head of the Corporate Compliance Department (“CCD”) with administering the Business Continuity Program & Corporate Compliance Program.

Compliance Officer Responsibilities include:

  • Compliance Officer will update the Business Continuity Management (BCM) Policy and Business Continuity Plan on at least an annual basis based on regulatory guidance, recommendations, and the lesson learned from a crisis or emergency event if any; or an organizational, products/services, and systems changes.
  • Coordinate BCM exercises and tests, and compiling exercise summary report.
  • Coordinate BCM Working Group meeting including preparing meeting deck and meeting minutes.
  • Timely execution of BCM training to ensure staff are familiar with the relevant provisions of the BCM.
  • Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Business Continuity procedures/documents.
  • Develop BCM Test Plan, BCM Action Plan and presenting to RMC the status of BCM implementation regularly.
  • Coordinate BCMWG meeting including preparing meeting deck and meeting minutes.
  • Effectively implement and execute the standards as defined in the Control Document Framework and Manual. Assist team head of Corporate Compliance Department (CCD) with defining and updating the Control Document process, where applicable.
  • Effectively manage, coordinate, and implement the IAMP. Implement governance standards, including tracking, monitoring, and updating the status of deliverables and milestones against the plan. Assist team head of CCD with defining and updating the IAMP process, where applicable.
  • Backup for other teams’ functions regarding Compliance Committee Meeting, Control Document Workflow, Bridger Insight Alert dispositioning, etc.
  • Coordination of Head Office reporting and organize and maintain department records.
  • Develop and maintain New York Office internal control standards for Corporate Compliance and maintain Key Change Management Tracker.
  • Perform project and program management implementation throughout the initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing phases of a project lifecycle.
  • Perform the execution of the Control Document Management review process through document review as part of the 4-eye and gatekeeper process and act as advisory to support stakeholders to ensure program continuity.
  • Conduct other BAU and ad hoc work assigned by team head of Corporate Compliance Department.
  • Perform the Regulatory Change Management by keeping current with changes in corporate compliance and related laws and regulations, perform impact analysis, and communicate trends or relevant information to Head Office and New York management.

Compliance Officer Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1-3 years of relevant compliance experience in banking and/or financial services industry
  • Relevant Business Continuity Management related experience in the US.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to discuss Corporate Compliance issues and related remediation measures with management.
  • Advanced analytical, critical thinking and tactical skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and maturity; highly ethical with professionalism and integrity.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Team oriented, willing and able to build bridges in the bank.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and team-building skills.

Salary range $80,000-$95,000 based on experience. Bonus eligible.
