Global Law firm in New York City is seeking a billing coordinator to join their billing department. Billing experience within a faced paced and high-volume law firm environment is a requirement.
Responsibilities:
- Billing Coordinator will edit and review pre-bills in response to attorney requests
- Process and compile a high volume of attorney bills to clients on a monthly basis
- Successfully apply retainer/on-account funds as directed by attorney and policy
- Ability to process write-offs following policy
- Successfully execute complex bills, such as multiple discounts by matter, split party billing, and prepare electronic bills in a timely manner
- Ability to submit invoices electronically and assist in resolving issues that might arise
- Verify and review accuracy of billing supporting documentation as required
- Respond and research internal and external inquiries regarding billing issues and problems in a timely manner
- Resolve and identify billing inaccuracies
- Ability to create billing schedules and various other billing analyses as required
- Interact and communicate with attorneys, secretaries and clients
- Billing Coordinator will distribute monthly partner reports
- Update and review comments for reports distributed to the Finance Committee and Partners
- Successfully attend weekly management meetings and partner meetings to review unbilled matter comments, matter on-accounts and e-Billing issues
- Billing Coordinator will work cooperatively with Collections staff and assist with accounts receivable issues to minimize credit balances
- Handle confidentiality of client and Firm matters
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements:
- Billing or e-Billing experience in a law firm
- Knowledge of 3E billing system or Aderant or comparable billing program preferred
- Billing experience within a faced paced and high-volume law firm environment is a requirement.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel
- Ability to use an accounting calculator
- Strong communication skills verbally and in writing
- Ability to work effectively as an individual and within groups
- Detail oriented, high degree of accuracy and organized
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work additional hours as needed
- Ability to effectively meet deadlines
Salary range $75,000-$95,000 based on experience. OT and bonus eligible.
